Founded by Xavier Pauchard in post-war France, TOLIX revolutionized furniture design by introducing galvanization, creating strong yet lightweight steel chairs that combined industrial aesthetics with functionality. By the 1930s, TOLIX’s durable outdoor furniture became a staple in public spaces, celebrated for its simplicity and resilience.
At the 1937 World’s Fair, TOLIX launched the iconic T37 chair, which is a sleek symbol of design excellence that found its place in both public and private spaces. In the 1950s, the Table 55 became another standout by blending practicality with industrial elegance.
TOLIX’s contributions to craftsmanship earned it the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label in 2006, honouring its commitment to French heritage. In 2022, under the leadership of Antoine BEJUI and Emmanuel DIEMOZ, TOLIX embraced a new era of innovation, reaffirming its role in modern design.
In 2023, they celebrated its legacy by reissuing the T37 collection and launching the UD collection, continuing to merge tradition with modernity, and ensuring its influence on industrial design remains timeless.
