LaCividina Idda

Description

Idda is what the people of Catania call Mount Etna and it is also the name of this coffee table, which takes the outline of the volcano – with winding lava flows wrapped around it – and turns it upside down.

Strips of sheet steel of various sizes are bent by hand and placed on top of each other to form three or five overlapping layers in a sculpturesque creation with full, natural shapes. The soft lines are enhanced by smooth welding, which reveals the outstanding technical skills of the manufacturers and adds a delightfully delicate touch to the raw materials.
